The Art of Still Life

The Art of Still Life is an all access pass to anything and everything in the Studio. I really wanted to do an extension from My Creative Still Life Journey, something that covers more and hopefully inspires more. I hope that you really dive in an enjoy the process on Your creative Still Life Journey. Find your way to peace, quiet and creative calm in this online Still Life class. Perhaps you're feeling a little overwhelmed and uninspired…… Life a little less than creative? Lost your Mojo or not really sure WHERE to start?

Each module will bring you new lessons, a new theme and challenge, learning about lighting, staging and styling, different styles and genres, more about your camera and it's settings and so much more.

Class Content Includes

  • eight modules, with 5-6 lessons in each module, covering different topics such as commercial and tabletop photography, macro, working with water, light painting, action in motion, looking at different genres, lighting, staging & editing.

  • tips, tricks and suggestions for making stills (including behind the scenes photos and videos).

  • a prompt or inspirational idea to for each module

  • Content is a mix of inspiration, with still life photography, tips & tricks & techniques.

  • There will be some written and some video components

  • Step by step editing and content creation

Class Synopsis:

  • Module one - and introduction to still life, the art behind it, settings, lighting and more

  • Module two - Flat lay study, backlight vs sidelight, focus & blur, assignment

  • Module three - dark and moody, histograms, metering modes, exposure compensation and assignment

  • Module four - soft & dreamy, composition, lighting, working with fabric, assignment

  • Module five - defining style, working with reflections, back button focusing, one subject three ways and assignment

  • Module six - looking at different genres, working with textures, working with minimalism, rustic country, vintage and assignment

  • Module seven - getting creative, macro, working with water, action in motions, light painting, HSL sliders and assignment

  • Module eight - Tabletop and product photography, styling, composition, commercial lighting, commercial ideas, assignment

FAQs

Q - I don’t have a big fancy DSLR or many lenses

A - That’s OK too, you can use a point and shoot camera or even your Smart Phone, you can more often than not use what ever lens you currently own, pretty much any camera, it’s the styling and lighting that is most important.

Q - I am not really very proficient in Lightroom or Photoshop

A - I cover enough to get you started, or you can visit the Lightroom 101 or Photoshop 101 classes, on my website for even more learning…and they are 100% FREE.

Q - How much time will it take?

A - Most classes are small with videos are around 10 minutes long(some a little more or a little less), but the actual shoot time is totally up to you. This is a self-paced class and once purchased you have life-time access, no hurry at all and you can revisit each class as many times as you wish.

Q - How much is it?

A - AUD $49.00 for over 40 lessons, plus loads of freebies, inspiration and guidance along the way.
