Product Review: Neewer Q6 Studio Strobe – Professional Results at an Affordable Price
As a studio photographer who works extensively with creative lighting and styled portraiture, I’m always on the lookout for lighting gear that’s reliable, consistent, and doesn’t break the bank. I recently got my hands on the Neewer Q6 600Ws Studio Strobe, and after several shoots, I’m thrilled to say this light has far exceeded my expectations. In fact, it’s earned a solid 5/5 from me!
Please Note: That while Neewer sent this product to me for review, all thoughts are my own
First Impressions
The Q6 is sleek, well-built, and refreshingly compact for a strobe of this power. Right out of the box, it feels like a serious piece of kit—sturdy metal housing, intuitive controls, and a bright, crisp LED modelling lamp bright, that accurately previews your lighting setup beautifully.
Whether you're a seasoned studio photographer or someone transitioning from speedlights, this strobe is a fantastic addition to your lighting arsenal.
Please note that I have only been using it on power so far for studio sessions, not battery.
Pros
Lightweight and easy to setup and super simple to use
Powerful, but beautiful light
Good price point
Solid design and intuitive controls
Crisp clean modelling light
Cons
Being honest, the biggest con for me is I only have the one light and the one trigger. So if I want a multi-light setup, I can't. I cannot use the Neewer trigger on my either gear and my other trigger won't work with the Neewer light. SO I can use it on my own for a single light setup, but at this stage I cannot move beyond that.
