There are friendship photos — and then there’s this.
Inspired by the iconic Dixie Chicks anthem “Goodbye Earl,” this Halloween BFF session with Skye and Janelle is a cheeky, cinematic twist on sisterhood, empowerment, and just a little mischief. Because sometimes the best friendships are the ones that get a little messy, laugh a little too loud, and aren’t afraid to dig deep — literally.
From the first moment the shovels came out, I knew this was going to be a shoot like no other. Equal parts dark comedy and ride-or-die loyalty, the story unfolded with each frame — dragging the “evidence,” digging by the water’s edge, and sharing a well-earned drink afterwards. Beneath the humour, though, there’s a genuine celebration of friendship: the kind where you’ve got each other’s backs no matter what life throws your way.
This concept has been on my creative wish list for years — the perfect mix of storytelling, attitude, and cinematic flair — and Skye and Janelle brought it to life better than I ever imagined. Their connection, their confidence, and their ability to throw themselves into the moment made it pure magic to capture.
A little gritty, a little glamorous, and a whole lot of fun — Goodbye Earl is a love letter to true friendship, Halloween mischief, and creative portraiture that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
