A Creative Portrait Photography Workshop
Save the Date: Sunday 17 May 2026
Location: Dandenong South, Victoria
Featuring model - Haruka Sato, Hair by Rose Thorogood and makeup by Jolie Artistry.
Step into a world of quiet power, elegance, and visual storytelling.
This special portrait photography workshop is inspired by the artistry and symbolism of the Geisha, where every gesture, every turn of the wrist, and every glance carries meaning. From the intricate kimono and traditional styling to the controlled, expressive poses, this is a shoot designed for photographers who love detail, intention, and cinematic portraiture.
We’ll be working with the incredible Haruka Sato, whose presence, movement, and understanding of traditional aesthetics bring this concept to life. This is not fast photography. It’s considered, deliberate, and beautifully restrained.
What this workshop is about
This session is all about:
Creating expressive, story-driven portraits
Working with traditional styling, props, and fans
Understanding pose, posture, and subtle expression
Sculpting light for mood and drama
Photographing with intention, not overwhelm
You’ll be guided through the shoot with clear direction and plenty of time to observe, compose, and shoot. This is a hands-on, photographer-focused experience, designed to stretch how you see and how you shoot.
