Friends in the studio...with Sharon Maher

I am sure you remember way back in September I ran a competition on my Facebook page to win a day in the studio? It was won by Sharon Maher…we shot a Halloween inspired Corpse Bride. It was a fab day. Well life happened as it does and Sharon had to put a few things on hold, but she did send through some images and a few words…

Hi Julie, I am just writing to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation for the opportunity to have been able to attend and be involved in your Studio Workshop environment. I would firstly like to say that the day itself exceeded my expectations. I am sincerely thankful to have been the lucky winner selected by Jess Ami to spend several hours of fun filled learning at your chosen Fantasy Workshop. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to look, listen. learn and to also photograph Jess Ami. I also appreciated seeing the hair and makeup transformation that Emma did for Jess. I had the best time. I was thrilled to be able to be present to see the full set up that goes towards the excellent images that you capture and share. To be able to have spent the full duration of seeing makeup, hair, dress prep, prop background being assembled and to then become an active participate in the actual photoshoot itself was an experience to remember and hopefully to repeat at another time. I enjoyed every aspect of it.

Sincerely, Sharon Maher.

Thanks, Sharon, it was great having you share the day with us. Here are some of Sharon’s images.

I frequently get asked to have guest ‘togs’ in the studio and I frequently do, but as am I sure you can imagine the demand often exceeds the reality, hence the workshops, true they do not cover all aspects of an entire shoot, but gives an opportunity to learn from me and some of our fun and quirky ideas in the studio.

I will be running another studio comp in the near future…so keep an eye out for that!
