Telesin Mini Fogger Review – Small but Mighty Magic

Telesin Mini Fogger Review – Small but Mighty Magic

Every now and then, I stumble across a piece of gear I buy on a whim… and then wonder how I ever lived without it. The Telesin Mini Fogger (C40 Portable Fog Machine) is exactly that. I picked one up out of curiosity, and since then, I’ve probably “on-sold” ten or more of these to students, workshop attendees, and fellow photographers. It’s that good.

Telesin Mini Fogger and Carry Case

At first glance, it looks like a small handheld gadget — light, compact, and surprisingly well-built. But once you fire it up, the creative potential is enormous. The fog and dry-ice-style effects are absolutely brilliant. Whether I’m shooting moody still life, adding atmosphere to portraits, or creating cinematic product photography, this little powerhouse delivers the goods every time.

The steam function isn’t my favourite — it tends to dissipate too quickly and doesn’t have the same density as the fog or dry-ice modes — but honestly, that’s a minor quibble when the rest of the effects are so incredible.

Powered by a rechargeable battery, it’s cordless, portable, and gives you consistent fog without lugging around heavy gear or power cords. It’s quiet, simple to use, and easily adjustable for subtle haze or full-on billows of cinematic smoke. Pair it with coloured light, and you’ve got instant magic in your frame.

Verdict

For creative photographers, filmmakers, and artists, this is an absolute gem. It’s fun, practical, and adds a professional cinematic touch to your images and videos. The fact that so many of my students have gone out and bought one after seeing it in action says it all — 10/5 from me!
