Neewer FL10 Spotlight & Gobo Projector Review

Neewer FL10 Spotlight & Gobo Projector Review

The Neewer FL10 is a compact, battery-powered LED spotlight designed for creative lighting in photography and videography. Its integration of gobo filters and colour LEDs makes it a versatile tool for adding dynamic lighting effects to various shooting scenarios. I’ve been using it in the studio for a few weeks, here are my thoughts.

PLEASE NOTE: While Neewer sent me this product to review and keep, all thoughts are my own.

Pros

  • Portability: Lightweight and compact, making it easy to handle and transport. I love the portability of this little spotlight. I have the larger Neewer LS39 Spotlight, which is far more powerful (with a Neewer CB200C LED), but also much heavier.

  • Versatile Lighting Effects: The inclusion of 20 gobo filters and four LED colours allows for creative and dynamic lighting setups.

  • Adjustable Beam: The zoomable beam angle provides flexibility in focusing light precisely where needed.

  • User-Friendly Controls: Single-button operation simplifies switching between colours and adjusting brightness.

  • Extended Battery Life: The built-in battery offers up to 3 hours of continuous use, suitable for on-location shoots.

Cons

  • Limited Power Output: At 10W, it may not provide sufficient illumination for larger setups or outdoor shoots requiring intense lighting.

  • Gobo Filter Quality: The included gobo filters are made of thin material, which might affect the sharpness of projected patterns.

  • Charging Time: A full charge takes approximately 4.5 hours, which could be a constraint during extended shooting sessions.
