One of the most difficult concepts in photography is lighting. Especially different styles of portrait lighting. In this book I hope to cover the basics in one and two light setups. Whether that is speed lights, flash or strobes. If you have done any of my Online classes, I am sure you will have spent some time with natural light; blocking, directing, bouncing, reflecting and so much more.
In this book I will break down several different styles and show you the behind the scenes setup, plus the final image as well. This is just a bare bones basic approach, please know that there are more styles with which to achieve different looks.
Playing with light, allows you creative freedom and I am hoping this booklet will give you the confidence to continue to learn on your own.
While I will be discussing my lights and gear, this will be fairly consistent across brands and models.
When in doubt, don’t forget to read the manual for your lights, camera and the rest of your gear.
I also use a light meter when it comes to studio lights and a gray card for checking my white balance. These can easily be googled, or check my website for more information.
