Huion Kamvas Slate 11 Review – Creativity Unplugged

Looking for a powerful, portable way to create on the go? The Huion Kamvas Slate 11 might just be your new best friend. This sleek, standalone Android 14 tablet is designed for artists who want the freedom to sketch, paint, edit, read, and even take notes without being tied to a computer. Compact, clever, and beautifully built, it’s a little creative powerhouse you can take anywhere.

Design and Display

Huion has absolutely nailed the look and feel here. The slim, lightweight metal body feels premium and solid, yet it’s easy to slip into a bag. The 10.95-inch Full HD+ (1920 x 1200) screen with Crisp 207 PPI with a 90Hz refresh rate is crisp, vivid, and smooth—perfect for both creating and entertainment.

What really makes it shine is the nano-etched soft light screen, which reduces glare and eye strain while giving you that gorgeous paper-like texture artists crave. Combined with full-lamination technology, you get precise pen control and virtually no parallax—so what you see is exactly what you draw.

It’s not just for drawing either. Thanks to Android 14, you can also use the Kamvas Slate 11 as an e-reader by downloading the Amazon Kindle or Kobo Apps (you will need to download the Apps from the Play Store). The soft matte finish and balanced brightness make reading comfortable even for long sessions. The only caveat? At just under 11 inches, it’s a bit larger than a standard e-reader, which might feel awkward for some to hold one-handed—but for those who prefer a bigger screen for text and illustrations, it’s a win.

Huion also includes a fabulous protective cover in the box, which doubles as both a pen holder and an adjustable stand. It’s sturdy, stylish, and makes it easy to set up anywhere—from your desk to a café table—without needing extra accessories.

Performance and Battery Life

Under the hood, the Kamvas Slate 11 packs a punch with a MediaTek Helio G99 8-core processor and 8GB of RAM. It runs Android 14, so it’s familiar, fast, and packed with potential. You can download your favourite creative apps from Google Play, work in split-screen mode, and enjoy smooth multitasking without slowdown.

It comes with 128GB of storage (expandable up to 1TB - micro SD card), giving you space for all your projects, photos, and apps. The 8000mAh battery offers up to 11 hours of continuous use and fast charges back up in about 2.7 hours, meaning you can stay in your creative flow all day. We actually had it running for just over a week on moderate use as an e-reader and audiobooks before it needing charging.

Drawing Experience

The star of the show is the Huion H-Pencil, designed specifically for the Kamvas Slate series. With a sleek metal finish, comfortable grip, and feather-light body, it feels great in hand for long sessions. It offers 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and 60° tilt recognition, translating every subtle shift of your hand into smooth, natural strokes.

Huion’s advanced line-drawing algorithms keep things stable and accurate—no jitter, lag, or offset. Whether you’re sketching, painting, or jotting notes, the pen-on-paper feel is remarkably authentic. Comes pre-installed with HiPaint, HiNote, Ibispaint, Clip Studio Paint, you can start creating straight out of the box.

I am currently teaching myself how to use HiPaint (very similar to iPad’s Procreate), so I may possibly do another article just on that.

Multimedia and Features

This isn’t just a drawing tablet—it’s a complete portable media device. The four built-in stereo speakers produce surprisingly rich sound for music, films, or YouTube tutorials. Want to binge-watch Netflix? Listen to your favourite Podcasts? Play a game or two while waiting for an appointment. You can do it all. An 8MP front camera makes video calls easy, while the 13MP rear camera is perfect for snapping reference images or using tools like Huion’s HiPaint app to drop photos straight into your artwork.

Load up Luminar Mobile, Photoshop Express or Lightroom Mobile for Photo Editing on the go.
